I know someone has the answer. The NWS point forecasts have gone from "experimental" to non-experimental... at least the "experimental" wording/label is gone. Are these based off the Nat'l Digital Forecast Database, or the individual zones from the NWS office? I do not have an example handy, but over time, I've been inclined to look at the "points" (or whatever they're called), then look at the zones from the offices. Because of years of habit, I tend to trust the zones more when just glancing and not doing my own forecast. I have noticed occasions when points just a few miles apart may have very different forecast conditions, particularly when examining points are on one side and then another of a CWA boundary. So i just bought a 350D w/ kit 18-55. i would like to do some indoor photos without flash or some night shots. the way i understand it a 50mm 1.8 would be good for a 35mm slr. what would the equivalent be for the 350D or should i just use the same lens on the the 350D and give up part of the picture? i don't think the kit lense would be to useful for low light situations. am i right or wrong? I am using a 60 GB laptop hard drive in a USB case with my laptop on XP SP2. If I start the computer with the USB hard drive attached, and login into XP account, the USB drive will not be recognized (will not appear at My Computer). However, the taskbar will show a connected USB drive icon, and the Hardware Manager will show it as well. If, however, I briefly remove and reconnect the hard drive it will detect it. Same can be done if I briefly disconnect and reconnect on the Login in to the account XP screen. Then, when the desktop appears, the USB hard drive will be already recognized and I will have an external hard drive icon in the My Computer. I was pulled over for going 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. There was medium to heavy traffic. Clear day. I really don't think that I was speeding, though. I have the Nikon AD Nikkor70-300mm1:4-5 6 G lens.. it doesnt auto focus on my d40... i plugged it onto my friends d80 the other day and it does... I don't use auto focus, but I'm intrigued as to why it focuses on the 80 and not the 40All Nikon lenses with an AF-D mount do not contain their own focusing motors, and they rely on the camera's motor in order to autofocus. However, the D40 does not have its own motor in order to save on size and weight, so the D40 can only autofocus on AF-S lenses or equivalent (Sigma HSM, etc). Edit: Hmm... it seems as though the Nikon 70-300 lenses are AF-S. Is your one AF-S or AF-D? You should be able to see on the lens' box or on the lens itself. THis lens sounds interesting, but I want to know if it will work with my EX2 tele extender? I have two eagles at the far end of my meadow, and cannot sneak close enough for a good picture.
