Changing registraion point of a movieclip

  • how can i change the registration point of a movieclip. i dragged on from the library, how do i change the registration point.
    ??


  • one more question. i have a movieclip and i attach another movieclip INSIDE the first one. i want the second movieclip to be equally spaced and centered in the first one. how do i do that? is it somehting 2 do with registration point??
    and when i change the size of the clips, i want the size of the child to change with the parent? can anyone gimme a hint!

  • well that is a little trickier. you'd first have to save the size of the first movieclip BEFORE attaching (since it could change once the new clip is in there - at that point it is then part of the original clip) Then change the _width and _height of the attached clip to match the saved values before attaching... THEN (yes theres more!) use getBounds to determine where in relation the attached clip is within the original.. actually you might have to get the bounds of the original first then use those values.... hmm I dont have much time to go into it now, but I think I might have a proto that does that over on layer51 (built for MX (or maybe 5) though)

  • double-click on it to edit it, select all its contents, move them. reg point changed


  • Actually, i'm developing a TextComponent hwich has a TextArea component and a MovieClip whicjh serves the purpose of dragging the TextArea. Now, i want the textarea to be in the center of the dragger movieclip.
