  • go to www.ilike.com or www.garageband.com (ilike gets it from garage band, but i like the format more). they have weekly picks from unsigned artists in a large variety of genres. i have found a ton of great music that way.

  • The Wrens are absolutely AMAZING! And the story of WHY they aren't famous is great too! From their website http://www.wrens.com/ the story goes:
    Halfway into their first tour supporting their debut album Secaucus, the wrens are told that if they do not sign their new fairly-high-dollar recording contract, all promotion for Secaucus will be stopped. The wrens, frowning on strong-arm tactics, do not re-sign and as promised, all promotion (including support for a pending tour of Europe with Brainiac) is pulled. The head of the record company, infuriated, commences layoffs of involved record company personnel and vows that the next band to walk through that door will be made famous - at any cost . The next band through the door is Creed. Grass Records becomes Wind Up Records. Creed becomes famous at any cost.

    Just one more reason to hate Creed, as if there needed to be more.

  • Check out Steel Train and Vampire Weekend. Steel Train was burnt out in the early 90s but are back in action.


  • since i just saw them last friday and they are back on the music scene, i would say you must check out bay area thrash metal titans FORBIDDEN, currently on tour in japan.
