Can I rule this out? Please answer?

  • Here's the story:

My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 4 years. We were virgins when we first had sex. I had never done ANYTHING sexually with anyone before him, but he had done some hand stuff with just one other girl. We have never cheated on each other.

I went to the gyn and they said they saw some "suspicious" bumps. They aren't red, inflamed, itchy, painful, and they don't burn--they're just...there. They weren't sure of what they were. I've compared mine to pictures online, and they look like vestibular papillae--something harmless. Of course, I'm no doctor--I can't diagnose myself. They want me to come back in a couple of months.

But, based on my history, it couldn't be anything that is related to STDs, right? If I had anything, it'd be from my boyfriend, and he would've gotten it from that ONE other girl. But they never had sex...can I pretty much rule STDs out? STDs are rarely transmitted manually (through hand jobs, fingering, etc.), right? Doesn't it pretty much have to be by fluid exchange or at least genital-to-genital contact?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Could they be molluscum? I actually had to do a search to find out what vestibular papillae was. You have bumps that aren't red, inflamed, itchy, or painful. Just bumps. Molluscum would be itchy but they are bumps and easily spread. Molluscum you can get from any person or surface. Kids get it more often but adults get it too. Here is a picture of it. You definitely want to get to a doctor to get a real diagnosis or else you're going to be a nervous wreck. (How did the gym see bumps on your vagina?)

  • Ok. If it is an STD and you have only been with him, he may be lying. It could just be polyps. I hope that the bumps aren't from STDs. The obgyn could have done blood and lab work to see if you had a STD.

  • so long as he hasn't ACTUALLY cheated on you (i know he says that he hasn't been... but you don't really know), you cannot get an STD by touching someone else (unless of course, he had open sores on his hand when he did "hand stuff" with this other girl... something could have been transmitted).
go back to your ob-gyn and make them test you!
good luck, i hope you're okay!
