Evicting my tenants-Suffolk ny?

  • I recently rented my apartment to a young women and her son. Within the first week of the lease she moved out with her son and left the apartment to her boyfriend. Did not notify us that she would be doing this and left. Now the boyfriend is in the apartment and has paid the first month (September) late and still has not paid the current monthâ ™s rent. It's the 13th and still nothing what can I legally do. I live in NY Suffolk County.


  • the only thing you can do is take them or him to court to legally get him out since he was not on the lease you would have no problem doing so but the process can take a while, i used to live in suffolk county.


  • Get some legal help.
    Give him NOTICE to QUIT immediately, serve it personally. Need to do an eviction of person or persons unknown. He has no lease, no standing to be in apartment. Had you not taken any rent, it would be an even easier, quicker process.
