I own a 96 ford mustang gt (4.6 liter) i want to add a some horsepower, any ideas?

  • its an automatic, im not looking to replace my engine quite yet, i was thinking about getting a supercharger, but im not a hundred percent sure what to look for, oh and i already have a performance chip in it. haha thankss [=


  • Get a turbo... superchargers are the easy way to get more power however turbos will give you much more power than any supercharger could.. if you plan to race I wouldn't recommend an automatic..


  • headers, and change air intake


  • Get a ProCharger supercharger, they're the best and by far the easiest way to add some horses, you can always find used really cheap complete kits on Ebay, they are much easier to install than a turbo and way cheaper too. You'll love the sound as well.


  • I saw a guy with a car body attached to two camels wandering down the hwy. Maybe you could try that?

  • First off how many miles are on your car? If you want to go FI then i would go with a turbo. They are more efficient then a supercharger, no parasitic loss, runs off exhaust gasses and dont "take power to make power" like a supercharger. They may be a TINY more expensive but overall its worth it. I would look at the hellion turbo system they have for the 96-98 gt. http://www.hellionpowersystems.com/data....

    Now if you dont want FI just yet cause your car may have to many miles you can do a o/r h/x pipe and a new catback(didn't say headers cause it depends on if you want to go FI later on and not waste money) GEARS(either 3:73 or 4:10's), pulley, I would also do the PI(power improved heads) from the 99-04 cause you will pick up another 30-40hp The stock ones are very restrictive. Automatics are really good in general because they are more consistant then sticks at the track however to hold the power you will have to upgrade the trans, i highly suggest you look over this link about the "jerrys mod" http://www.tccoa.com/articles/tranny/ind... Yea its based off of the thundebird but they use the same 4r70w that 96 gt's do.

  • Why not put a performance exhaust system on your car. That will give you about 10 more horses.
